OUTDOOR SET UP SPACE
Reservations for Reserved Outdoor Setup space open on November 5, 2025 at Noon MST online at wheresmyspace.com, and close Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Noon. Reservations for Reserved Outdoor Setup spaces are available online only at wheresmyspace.com. Exhibitors choose their preferred space when reservations are made. You will be asked to register on Where’s My Space in order to make your reservation.
- Reserved Setup Space, no electricity – $65.00 each
- Reserved Setup Space WITH electricity; limited availability (northwest corner) – $150.00 each
- Reserved Generator Space (north side on asphalt) – $65.00 each
- Sandbag Rental – each weighs approximately 40 lbs. – $4.00 each bag
Payment must accompany reservation; major credit cards and PayPal are accepted. Email confirmation is sent once payment is processed. Reservations are processed through Where’s My Space with access to their website via wheresmyspace.com.
Each space will be identified by the person whose name is on the reservation and that person is considered the responsible party. Failure to comply with rules regarding weights or failure to follow the instructions of an HODC volunteer or authorized representative of Where’s My Space could result in charges being brought in a Bench Hearing.
A list of assigned spaces will be at the Where’s My Space check-in table in the northeast corner of the Backyard as well as at the Heart of the Desert Classic™ Club Administration Table in the Coliseum Lobby on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.; the list will not be published online.
Your reserved space will be available upon your arrival any day of the Cluster.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Outdoor Set Up areas will be around the outside rings. Spaces are limited; reserve early. Each space is approximately 10’ x 10’ on grass with overflow areas on pavement or dirt (be prepared with ground cover). Some spaces may be irregular due to pillars, and/or trees. Reserved Set Ups are on grass. Reserved Generator Set Ups are on asphalt.
Unreserved Outdoor Set Up spaces are available on both grass and asphalt. No vehicles are allowed to pull up to the Backyard to unload.
- Grounds open at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
- Use of generators is restricted to a designated area on asphalt in the northwest Backyard. Per AKC rules, generators must be positioned at least 50’ from rings. The Fire Marshall requires generators to be placed at least 20’ from tents/canopies.
- Blow dryers may not be used closer than 30’ to any ring and cannot cause disruption.
- No smoking (including e-cigarettes) under, or within 20’, of any tent/canopy. No smoking in outdoor restrooms or porta potties.
- The use of propane powered heating or power devices under or within 20’ of a tent/canopy is strictly forbidden.
- Exhibitors may set up non-walled tents or canopies (not exceeding 10’ x 10’) in pre-marked spaces only. As required by the Fire Marshall, spaces will be groups of six 10’x10’ spaces separated by a 12’ aisle around the grouping.
- All tent/canopy legs must be weighted to meet manufacturer’s specifications. Exhibitors should follow the instructions and spec sheets provided by the tent or canopy manufacturer to ensure Fire Marshal compliance. All tents/canopies will need some sort of weight to pass inspection. The venue will levy fines on canopies not in compliance with the weights requirement. Sandbags are available to rent.
- Sandbags are available to rent at $4.00 each when Outdoor Set Up space reservations are submitted. One bag weighs approximately 40 lbs. HODC will provide bailing twine.
- Ex-pens must be contained within your 10’ x 10’ space.
- NO STAKING OF TENTS OR EQUIPMENT IS ALLOWED for the safety of exhibitors and dogs. There are electrical and water lines that run under the grounds. Use of stakes may lead to disciplinary action, loss of the equipment as well as being held accountable for any repairs to grounds.
- Ringside crating space will be designated. ALL ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED FROM RINGSIDE CRATING WITHIN 20 MINUTES FOLLOWING YOUR BREED’S JUDGING. No items shall remain overnight in Ringside Crating. The Show Committee reserves the right to consolidate spaces to accommodate exhibitors.
- USE OF DRYERS, ELECTRICAL HOOKUPS, SCISSORING, BATHING OF DOGS OR OVERNIGHT SETUP IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN THE RINGSIDE CRATING AREA. AISLES MUST BE KEPT CLEAR. Only approved Reserved and Unreserved Set Up spaces may be used for grooming.
- Setups cannot block aisles, fire hydrants or electrical boxes; all areas for emergency egress must be kept clear.
- Dogs cannot be left unattended in exercise pens or on grooming tables. Unattended dogs should be in crates.
- Do not dispose of dirty water in trash barrels; bring a container for this.
- Keep the space clean; set up areas will be checked each night for cleanliness.
- Exhibitors will be required to remove barking, disruptive and/or unruly dogs from the area. Dogs cannot be left in the Backyard overnight.
- Failure to comply with the rules or to follow instructions of Where’s My Space personnel or HODC show committee members are subject to disciplinary action up to and including a Bench Show Hearing.
